Keith Urban Checks Into Rehab
Oct 20, 3:30 PM EST
The Associated Press
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Keith Urban has checked himself into a rehabilitation treatment center for alcohol abuse, less than four months after his marriage to actress Nicole Kidman.
The Grammy-winning country singer released a statement Friday that said he entered rehab Thursday night with his wife by his side. His publicist would not give the location of the rehab center.
“I deeply regret the hurt this has caused Nicole and the ones that love and support me,” Urban said in the statement.
Urban, who turns 39 on Oct. 26, has publicly acknowledged a former addiction to cocaine.
“One can never let one’s guard down on recovery, and I’m afraid that I have,” the statement read.
Urban’s new CD, “Love, Pain, & the whole crazy thing,” will be released Nov. 7 as scheduled, but he will postpone all upcoming promotional appearances.
Urban will also likely cancel a scheduled appearance on the Country Music Association awards next month, the publicist said.
Kidman and Urban, who were both raised in Australia, married on June 25 in Sydney. They then moved to Nashville, where Urban records.
Urban won a Grammy this year for best male country vocalist for “You’ll Think of Me,” and was named top male vocalist for the second year in a row by the Academy of Country Music.
A Country Weekly magazine reader poll this year named him country music’s sexiest man.

Question by teepetlhw: Can you help me understand these Japanese insurance terms?
I will be studying in Japan this summer, but not long enough to warrant a student visa or international student eligibility for Japan’s National Health Insurance, so I’m required to get my own health insurance that covers 15 million yen in “Injury Death” and 5 million yen in “Injury Treatment”, “Sickness Death”, “Sickness Treatment”, and “Rescuers Expense”.
These terms don’t match up to any policy I can find.
I can find things like Lifetime Maximum Benefits, Pregnancy Coverage, Policy Year Maximum Benefits, Basic Medical, Supplemental Major Medical, Fees for Diagnosis/Treatment, Hospital Charges, Laboratory/Diagnostic/X-ray, Outpatient Prescription Drugs, Durable Medical Equipment, Hospital Room & Board, Intensive Care, Mental Disorders, Drug/Alcohol Abuse, Motor Vehicle Accident, Ground Ambulance, Injuries to Sound Teeth, Accidental Death & Dismemberment, Medical Evacuation and Repatriation of Remains.
It seems like “Accidential Death and Dismemberment” oughta be what covers both “Injury Death” and “Sickness Death”, but I can’t find anything anywhere close to 15 mill yen (about $ 150,000 usd), so I’m thinking maybe they lump in some other stuff like repatriation and hospital fees, but I’d like to see some actual definitions.
“thecheapest”‘s answer gave a common sense explanation for what the terms might be, which doesn’t really help. I have common sense. I’d like a translation of these Japanese benefit terms to American benefit terms like the ones I listed in the paragraph that starts with “I can find things like…”
$ 150,000 benefits for accidental death and dismemberment is unheard of, so “injury” death must include something else, or else dying in Japan is exceptionally expensive.

“Injury Death”; money to pay to your family when you get injured and died as a result.
“Injury Treatment”: money to pay to you as its cost when you get injured and get treatment
“Sickness Death”:money to pay to your family when you get sick and died as a result.
“Sickness Treatment”: money to pay to you as its cost when you get sick and get treatment
“Rescuers Expense”: money to pay to your family if they need to come to you as emergency

Question by Jack: Why are the conditions in most mental hospitals awful?
Some are even dangerous e.g. patients can often be at risk from other patients. And I’m not even talking about the ones that use electric shock “treatment”.
My question is how are mental hospitals actually supposed to HELP patients? I would think that feeling unsafe and being around people that scream and bang their heads off walls and stuff would make anyone’s mental problem 10 times worse?

First, they aren’t all like that, but the ones that are, they are usually public funded, where the patients are unwanted by anyone else, so there is no one to complain about the bruises, or the filth, they are just deposited there to die, it really pretty sad, we need better laws that both check up on, and punish these places.
